In our last gathering, we explored the whimsical realm of imagination through The Fairy Door Story. Today, I am overjoyed to officially introduce you to a beautiful soul who is stepping directly out of our folklore to become a permanent pillar of my upcoming creative project: Meet Avalon, Our Wish Fairy.

Avalon is making her debut as a highly special, custom addition to my upcoming Practical Magick Tarot Deck. While a traditional deck consists of the standard 78 cards, my vision for this deck is to offer something uniquely magical. I am introducing three extra Avalon Fairy Wish Cards to the mix.

You can absolutely choose to set these three cards aside and read with the traditional 78 structure. However, incorporating them adds a profound layer of intuitive guidance to your spreads (and holds a deeper mathematical secret).

The Sacred Numerology of the Number 9

By expanding the traditional 78-card structure with 3 additional Wish Cards, the deck reaches a total of 81 cards. In sacred numerology, when we break this down (8 + 1), we arrive at the singular, high-vibrational Number 9.

In spiritual frameworks, the number 9 universally symbolizes:

Completion & Culmination: Standing at the threshold of a finished cycle, ready to harvest your rewards.
Universal Love & Compassion: The ultimate path of humanitarianism, empathy, and service to others.
Releasing the Past: Moving forward with soul integrity and making the world a brighter place.

As a Life Path number, the 9 is the archetype of the healer. It perfectly bridges my work as an intuitive storyteller and an end-of-life companion, reminding us that every ending is simply a doorway to a new beginning.

Why Avalon? A Bridge Between Two Realms

Choosing a name for our Wish Fairy required tapping into the ancient, historic roots of myth and transition. Avalon is the legendary, mystical island of Celtic mythology and Arthurian legend. It is famed as an otherworldly paradise, a utopian "Fortunate Isle" shrouded in mist, governed by the enchantress Morgan le Fay. Most profoundly, it is the sacred place where King Arthur was taken to heal and rest after being mortally wounded, serving as his final resting space.

The name carries deep spiritual weight across three distinct layers:

The Isle of Apples: The name stems from the Old Welsh word afal (meaning apple). In ancient mythology, the apple is a sacred symbol of abundance, magic, and immortality.
A Realm of Deep Healing: As chronicled in classical lore, Avalon is entirely free of sorrow; it is a place of profound inner transformation and ancestral wisdom.
The Liminal Space: It represents the beautiful, thin veil between worlds.

Tying this name to our Wish Fairy brings my entire calling full circle. It perfectly weaves together my belief in Tarot as a way to explore the magic of this beautiful life, and my Death Doula path of embracing the sacred journey of eternal rest. Avalon represents the ultimate destination of peace.

What is a Wish?

A wish is a magical request. It is a silent, sacred hope spoken softly to a higher power, a shooting star, or a wild dandelion. It is a fierce desire for a beautiful outcome that is not yet real.

In a world that can often feel chaotic, we have an obligation to Be the Magic.
