Over the coming weeks, we will travel through the 22 milestones of the Major Arcana, exploring three cards each week to see how they weave into a single, beautiful narrative. Once our journey through the Major Arcana is complete, we will step into the Minor Arcana to unlock the elemental secrets of the Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles.

This series is deeply close to my heart because I will be guiding you using preliminary, "not-quite-finished" glimpses of my very own creation: The Practical Magick Tarot Deck by Moonwind Fairy.

To make this deck uniquely magical, I am using the faces of my own loved ones as the archetypes. The artistic style blends a realistic Celtic era with whimsical, enchanting elements. As we look at each card, we will explore its High Energy (its positive attributes and gifts) and its Low Energy (the difficult aspects needing healing or awareness).

The Concept: The Journey of the Fool

At its heart, the Tarot is the story of The Journey of the Fool, a metaphorical tapestry representing the entire human life cycle. Beginning with the complete innocence of the Fool (0) and culminating with the integration of the World (21), this journey shows us how we encounter archetypes, learn vital life lessons, and evolve our souls.

Let us meet our first three travelers.

🎨 Card 0: The Fool

For this archetype, I have cast the beautiful face of my granddaughter, Cady.

The first card of the deck represents the spark of a lifetime adventure. The Fool is the ultimate symbol of resilience, innocence, and the willingness to learn about love, loss, and magic by taking a leap of faith.

High Energy: New beginnings, absolute freedom, following your bliss, unlimited possibilities, childlike wonder, and trusting that the Universe will catch you.
Low Energy: Being naive or gullible, reckless behavior, poor judgment, or making rash, impulsive choices.

The Medicine: When The Fool steps into your reading, a new chapter is beginning. It asks you to unpack your past baggage, trust your instincts, and jump. Jump, and the net will appear! Conversely, in its low energy, it can warn you that you are ignoring obvious red flags, letting anxiety paralyze your progress, or acting foolishly without weighing the consequences.

The Fool’s Mantra: "I am ready to take some risks and follow my bliss on my soul journey."

🎨 Card 1: The Magician

For this archetype, I am honoring the enduring spirit and wisdom of my Dad.

Standing as the bridge between realms—As above, so below—The Magician represents your innate power to manifest the physical reality you desire through willpower and resourcefulness.

High Energy: Deep self-belief, willpower, absolute mastery of your tools, focused desire, creativity, and conscious manifestation.
Low Energy: Manipulation, trickery, illusion, unfulfilled potential, or blocked creative energy.

The Medicine: The Magician arrives to remind you that you already possess every single skill, talent, and tool required to turn your abstract ideas into physical form. If it appears in its low energy, it suggests you might be hesitating because you feel unprepared, lacking clear direction, or misusing your focus.

The Magician’s Mantra: "I can manifest the life I desire through belief in myself and my abilities."

🎨 Card 2: The High Priestess

For this archetype, I have cast my eldest daughter, Sarah.

The guardian of the unseen, the High Priestess represents the divine feminine energy that bridges our conscious actions with the deep, quiet waters of the subconscious mind.

High Energy: Deep intuition, psychic insights, serene spiritual alignment, mystery, serendipity, and ancient hidden knowledge.
Low Energy: Surface gossip, mental confusion, hidden harmful motives, or a total disconnection from your center.

The Medicine: The High Priestess is a prompt to pause, withdraw from the noise of the external world, and trust your inner voice. When her energy is blocked, it often means you are actively ignoring your gut instincts, or that secrets are shifting beneath the surface of your situation.

The High Priestess’s Mantra: "I know the answers I need by trusting my intuition."
